The sequel, Call of Duty 2 for the Xbox 360 and PC has sold more than one million units in the U.S. alone[3]. In addition, Call of Duty 2 was the first Xbox 360 title to sell one million copies in the United States. It continues to be among the highest-rated games for the platform, according to Game Rankings. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare also has a massive commercial and critical success, selling over a combined 10 million copies as of January 25, 2008 and received 95.3 out of 100 for Xbox 360 and PS3 on Gamerankings. The PC version earned a 93 out of 100. Call of Duty: United Offensive was developed by Gray Matter Interactive which later merged into Treyarch, the company who developed Call of Duty 2: Big Red One and Call of Duty 3. Treyarch will develop the next Call of Duty game as well. However, some sources have reported that Infinity Ward may have renegotiated their contract with Activision so that the studio would be the sole developer of the FPS series beyond Call of Duty: World at War. However, this was debunked as a rumor and Treyarch and Infinity Ward will switch off on the series. Infinity Ward has announced the possibility of a new IP where they will have complete control.
